Training Group 1996 - 1998

The 1996 - 1998 group has around 40 players, boys and girls. We start training sessions with 15-20 minutes' fitness training followed by approximately 30 minutes of skills (basic skills and 'short games' to practise skills in small groups). We always have a full 11-a-side game (splitting into three teams if we have too many players) of 30-40 minutes to try the skills learned in a proper context (short games being no substitute for 11-a-side) and so that the players have the necessary competitive element.

The boys and girls have differing skill levels when they start. But skill isn't everything and sometimes the less gifted are better players in a full game than some of their fellow players, or simply better team players. Thus any perceived 'lack of skill' should NOT put boys and girls off coming along.

Training is primarily in English, with French as a second language. Depending on which trainers are there on a given day, other languages might be on offer. As far as the players are concerned we have had most EU countries represented over recent years and even had North American participation.

We endeavour to enter some Belgian tournaments during the season to test our players against their peers.

Photos

As you can imagine, the site would be a bit dull without the odd photo of our kids.  Asking you permission for every child on a group photo could be difficult.  However, we would like to ensure that no children are identified in photos without express permission. So, to simplify things, if anyone objects to any photo posted, please contact us via the "contact us" form, specifying the photo and if it is a group photo, we will obscure your child's face so that it is not recognisable, and if it is a close-up shot, it will be removed immediately.
